The game matched the leagues two best defenses, but for the second straight week it was the Ti-Cats offense that stole the show. Quarterback Zach Collaros completed 17 of 29 passes for 300 yards and three scores against the tough Eskimos.
Hamilton has now won five straight football games and with the continued hot play of their young signal caller, could make it tough on the rest of the league for the remainder of the season.
The biggest surprise of the year is Toronto as the Argo’s have won yet another thriller over the weekend, this time against the young upstarts in Ottawa 30-24. The win improved the squad to 6-2 on the year, but with a much-less dominating fashion of play, Toronto will have to settle for second in the latest power rankings.
Despite the dominating play from the East Division, Calgary is still hanging around as one of the teams to beat this year. The Stampeders won a close 34-31 game against Saskatchewan in week 9 and improved their record to 6-2, tops in the West Division, but with just three games played on the road this season, Calgary sits third overall in the league.
With all the good, comes some bad and for Saskatchewan the loss to Calgary was their eighth straight on the year and has the team still looking for its first win.
Montreal has also struggled this year with just three wins, costing head coach Tom Higgins his job, despite the Alouettes winning this week against the B.C. Lions 23-13, but the troubles in the locker room proved just too much for ownership to ignore.
