Most impressive about McNaughton is that he is all-natural in his bodybuilding, and he is able to balance bodybuilding, wrestling and football, while maintaining a high grade point average in his academics.
On balancing an athletic life and an academic one, he said, “Honestly, it is very stressful, but school is No. 1, and whatever time I have left, I spend it on bodybuilding and wrestling.”
McNaughton continued, “These sports taught me discipline, definitely. Every day, you need to make sure that you are getting enough meals in and that you are maintaining your body composition. During wrestling season, I have to make sure that I have a good diet and that my equipment is ready each day. All these simple things that I have to do throughout these sports taught me some great values in life, such as hard work, perseverance and will power.”
On his inspiration to pursue wrestling and bodybuilding, he said, “When I was younger, I was very into the Hulk and WWE, so I wanted to look big too. One day, I went to the Internet, and I just looked up how to become bigger and muscle growth tips, and that’s how I got into bodybuilding.”
McNaughton won wrestling awards in high school tournaments, and he almost won the leagues last year for high school, finishing in 4th place. “I am going to work harder this year to achieve that goal,” he said, optimistically.
His greatest influences in life include his firefighter father, Kristian McNaughton, and his grandfather. “They showed me good morals in life, and they weren’t self-centered. They were able to help others, and I like seeing smiles on other people’s faces as a result,” he said.
Regarding his plans for the future, he said, “I want to study environmental studies in college and earn a degree in that field, and I want to continue with bodybuilding as a side job.”

For hopefuls who wish to stay healthy and fit, he said, “Have a healthy and clean diet, and hit the gym hard. You could work out 10 hours a day, but if you don’t eat healthy, all of your hard work just goes to waste. Those are really the two things that I stress on people with regards to staying healthy.”
He defined the word success as “Setting one or more major goals in life, and working as hard as I can to finally achieve them.”
