Amir Khan-Chris Algieri fight set for May 30

Khan revealed his next fight via his wife’s You Tube channel saying he will be facing former Manny Pacquiao foe Chris Algieri, a former WBO light welterweight champion.

“The next opponent will be Chris Algieri. We’ll be taking that fight at 147 pounds,” said Khan, who will face Algieri at 147 pounds limit.

“He’s from New York. He’s had 21 fights. Only lost one fight. He’s the same height as me. He’s 5 feet 10 inches tall, ranked No 8 in the world,” Khan added.

Before his announcement to fight Algieri, the British boxing idol came under heavy pressure to face fellow British fighter Kell Brook, who is unbeaten in 34 pro fights and is the current IBF welterweight champion.

Brook, fresh from his victory over Jo Jo Dan last week, said Khan could be avoiding him. But the Bolton fighter downplayed Brooks’ challenge saying that his rival still has to make a bigger name for himself.

Khan vowed to face Brook within the next 12 months at the Wembley Stadium.

Boxing fans will be treated to an enjoyable fight as both fighters bring to the ring their unique individual boxing styles, promising excitement for fans who hate watching boring fights.

Like Manny Pacquiao, Khan and Algieri are also known their speed and power and they are unafraid to mix it up in the ring, which makes their fight exciting and entertaining.

Khan is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Devon Alexander last December and is now on his four-fight winning streak after losing to Danny Garcia in 2012 while Algieri is making his first comeback fight after losing to Pacquiao last year in Macau. China.
