Cleveland and Tennessee look like the biggest winners for next spring as both franchises have two picks in the opening round. The Browns are clearly looking to rebuild yet again and after the injury to Robert Griffin in week one, rumors have already started on changes the team can make for future success.
Walter Football’s latest mock has management taking Clemson All American quarterback Deshaun Watson, a duel-threat signal caller with great leadership skills and hopefully the ability to lift this franchise out of the doldrums and into the playoffs and if their projections are correct, Watson will be getting help in the form of LSU running back Leonard Fournette, two picks that would definitely generate a buzz with the fans and make this a team to watch in the near future.
The Titans are close to being a good football team and with just a bit more help, this could become a playoff team very quickly. Defense will be the key for this squad and the latest reports have Marlon Humphrey of Alabama and Jamal Adams of LSU ready to help in the secondary, but depending on where they pick in the opening round, pass rush specialist Myles Garrett of Texas A&M would be a great choice.
In the latest player rankings, Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer has skyrocketed up the ladder and is now considered a top-10 prospect in 2017. The youngster has good size, a great arm, and the mobility to make plays with his feet. San Francisco is the team most mentioned to taking the Fighting Irish signal caller, but with quarterbacks being a premium in the NFL, a team trading up to acquire the young man could happen.
The biggest loser next spring is the LA Rams as they threw all their chips in the pot on Jared Goff in 2016. With the hope he can eventually takeover as the offensive leader, the front office will need to keep their fingers crossed as they have don’t have selection in the first or third round in 2017, a move that could make or break this franchise for the next decade.
