2017 NFL Mock Draft: Updated first round projections

Cleveland will once again miss the chance to play for a Super Bowl title and despite a miserable year thus far, the Browns are giving several young players a chance to prove their worth and that will help when making decisions over the off season.

With the likely first pick next April, most experts now have the front office looking to improve the defense and not taking another quarterback. Rookie Cody Kessler has done a good job as a starter in recent weeks, leading many in the organization to believe he can lead this franchise into the future.

Myles Garrett of Texas A&M is a game changer with his ability to rush the passer and make big plays behind the line of scrimmage. The youngster tops the latest player rankings for any position and could be just what Cleveland needs to help stop opposing offenses.

San Francisco will likely look for a change behind center and Notre Dame signal caller DeShone Kizer is being projected as the team’s next quarterback. Despite entering this season as a mid-round target, Kizer has skyrocketed up the rankings with his decision making and ability to make big plays, despite struggles with the offensive line in South Bend.

Another player making headlines is Alabama’s defensive lineman Jonathan Allen and a few NFL experts have predicted he could go in the top spot. Allen has the versatility to play any position on the line and make an impact. The Jaguars could target the young man to bolster their defense, but others believe the front office will look to help the running game and that would have Jacksonville taking LSU star Leonard Fournette in the first round.

With the amount of talent available next year, social media is heating up with potential trades that could have teams like Seattle and New England moving up in the opening round to address areas of need, making this one of the most intriguing drafts in the last decade and one that should give fans plenty to talk about once the season is finished.
