2016 NFL Mock Draft: Updated first round projections

With the trade, look for the Rams to take who they believe is the best quarterback in the latest player rankings. Carson Wentz is the most logical choice, but several mocks from the leading football experts still have Jared Goff as the possible choice.

When all is said and done, it could come down to which player is easier to sign and get into camp, but no matter which youngster they decide to draft, the pressure will be on with the team now back in Southern California and the franchise looking to generate some positive public relations on and off the football field.

The biggest loser is now Cleveland as the Browns won’t have their choice of young signal callers. Rumors have started that if the Rams take the player Cleveland wants most, a trade could happen to gain more picks, including a choice later in the first round to take Memphis QB Paxton Lynch.

With the trades and rumors, San Diego now has the opportunity to take the best overall player and many believe Florida corner Jalen Ramsey is that player. Despite a need for help on the offensive line, Ramsey could become a great shut-down defender and with the departure of Eric Weddle, the Chargers have a huge hole to fill in the secondary.

Several wide receivers have climbed into the first round according to the experts. Mel Kiper now has four wide outs being selected in his latest mock with the biggest surprise being TCU product Josh Docston headed to Tennessee, who now picks in the 15th slot after their deal with the Rams.
