With Johnny Manziel likely done in football, this team has struggled to find the right signal caller. Having a leader that can guide this squad to the playoffs is a must and with the second overall pick, they will have their pick of quarterbacks to choose from as Tennessee has no interest in a QB.
Jared Goff is currently the top ranked quarterback in the latest player rankings and the type of player that has the leadership ability and skill set to become a top-notch professional, but some experts are worried about the offensive he ran at Cal and if he can take his skill and work it into a pro-style system.
The other option at this point is Carson Wentz, a big, strong-armed youngster who played at North Dakota State. The biggest issue is the level of play for the 23-year-old, but a strong showing at the NFL Combine could make him the second overall pick in April.
Talking quarterbacks, San Francisco has some questions to answer in the coming weeks, most notably, what to do with Colin Kaepernick. With Chip Kelly now running the show, his offensive system is perfect for the struggling signal caller, but can he regain the confidence that helped lead the 49ers to the NFC Championship a couple years back or is he finished in Northern California, leading the front office to look at the Draft to find their next offensive leader.
Joey Bosa has been in the news lately and its not all good. The Ohio State defensive end has slipped in the player rankings and a question of off field issues could see the young man drop in the first round. A couple months ago Bosa was projected as the second or third player taken, but now if Dallas passes with the fourth pick, he could fall to the middle or back end of the opening round.
