2016 NFL Mock Draft: Final first round projections and analysis

All the latest reports, including the updated mock from Walter Football, has the Rams taking Cal product Jared Goff. The youngster has a bit more mobility than Carson Wentz and more experience against tougher competition, but in the latest player rankings, not much separates these two field leaders.

With Goff headed to Southern California, look for the Eagles to take Wentz, a move that has starting quarterback Sam Bradford unhappy and asking for a trade, something that could take place between now and when the team takes the clock for their first selection.

Another team looking for more depth behind center is Denver and the latest rumors have the Broncos looking at Bradford, but if that fails, several football experts believe the front office will use their top pick on Paxton Lynch, the tall, mobile QB from Memphis.

With all the wheeling and dealing, Cleveland has dropped to eighth in the opening round and unlikely to snag a quarterback. With a few extra draft picks, the front office for the Browns can now add depth at several key positions, including finding help for Robert Griffin as he looks to take this franchise into the promised land of the NFL Playoffs.

Cleveland is expected to the best offensive lineman available and that list includes Jack Conklin of Michigan State and Ronnie Stanley of Notre Dame, both of whom would help solidify the offensive line.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to see several more trades in the coming days, effecting how and who teams select, but with the proactive moves made by the Rams and Eagles, one thing is clear, quarterbacks rule the roost and the hoe is these youngsters can take them to a Super Bowl title before their careers are finished.
