TopFinds: Oil spill wreaks havoc, UK apologies for Pope condoms

Among the original reports that got attention:

A Toronto story by Andrew Moran about a building that caught fire in the city yesterday. Black smoke could be seen as far as uptown Toronto as firefighters quickly knocked down a blaze on top of a condominium near the waterfront within minutes upon arrival.

Moving State-side, Digital Journalist Carol Forsloff covered the controlled burn being used to stop environmental damage to the Gulf as a result of a massive oil spill. With oil spilling into the Gulf from an oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico April 20, responders have decided to try to stop the oil from reaching shoreline via a controlled burn.

Man charged with murder after mother found decapitated by Kim I. Hartman: A 21-year-old man was charged with murder after his mother’s bloody, headless body was found inside her home. Her decapitated head which had been severed from her torso was found in a bag a few blocks away from where she lived on Sunday.
