T-Mobile ad of fake Royal Wedding entrance dance goes viral

The two-minute spot from T-Mobile UK shows actors playing various members of the Royal family, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry, engaging in some playful dancing as they make their way to the pulpit. It’s a spoof of the popular 2009 wedding entrance video, as reported by Digital Journal.

T-Mobile’s “Royal Wedding” video has accumulated more than 4.6 million views since it was posted on YouTube on Friday. More than 7,000 comments have been posted on the YouTube page, and the Facebook Page for T-Mobile UK attracted 445 “likes” for the posted clip.

The video stars actors playing luminaries such as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry, all grooving to an East 17 song as they walk down the aisle. Then “Prince William” leaps into the scene and beckons for his wife to dance into the wedding, and an actor playing Kate Middleton walks in and dances with her husband-to-be.

As they dance arm-in-arm to the pulpit, the line “One’s Life is For Sharing” appears on the screen and T-Mobile’s logo then ends the clip.

According to CBC TV this morning, the church used in the T-Mobile shoot is the same church in the 1994 film Four Weddings and a Funeral.

The video was made by ad firm Saatchi & Saatchi and production company Gorgeous.
