Skydiver has seizure midair, saved by instructor

The user called Nomadic Adrenaline posted the video of himself suffering a seizure at an altitude of around 9000ft, as he loses unconsciousness for 30 seconds. His instructor seeing that things were going drastically wrong, swings in to save the man and pulls his ripcord, releasing his parachute, and thus saving him.

Thirty seconds later, the diver regains conscious at an altitude of 3,000 feet above the ground and landed safely. The video is quite frightful. Jumping of a plane 9,000 feet in the air is scary enough, but losing consciousness and going into seizure in midair is quite harrowing. Fortunately, it all ended well.

No details were offered by the Youtube user, who posted the video on Reddit, the popular social sharing site, but based on Reddit comments, it seems the incident took place above Australia, and the team is from the WA Skydiving Academy.

Reddit user urban_thirst1070 reported, “If it helps, this must’ve been a jumpmaster from the WA Skydiving Academy (Australia) because I recognise that dropzone 100%. Same jumpsuits, helmet and gear that I wore, and the landmarks on the ground all match up to being in Pinjarra.”

Redditors have also requested that the skydive instructor join the community for an AMA, a free for all question and answer session.

As per the Youtube description, the jump started at 12,000 feet, took place on Nov. 14, 2014, and the whole incident occurred at 9000 feet while the diver Christopher attempted a left turn.
