Clooney answered questions while still on set for the filming of Tomorrowland, a Disney film slated for release in May 2015. From the questions he answered, he seems to often be the target of practical jokes. He described one particularly big one courtesy of Brad Pitt while filming Ocean’s Twelve:
He said: “It was Brad, we were shooting Oceans 12 in my hometown in Lake Cuomo and he had a flier sent around saying George only wants to be called by his character’s name Danny Ocean, don’t look him in the eyes, and it got into the local paper. As you know, jokes don’t translate at all, and they called me il divo, and said that I was treating the crew like shit. When it got into the paper I came downstairs and Brad had the paper in his hand, and I said “You’re mine from here on out.’
Brad just said, ‘Please don’t harm my children.’ Yeah, he’s done some pretty rotten things.”
He has played several practical jokes on Richard Kind, apparently, from defecating in his cat’s litter box to putting a prop that looked like a bomb in Kind’s travel bag before going to the airport.
He also described destroying Leonardo DiCaprio in a game of basketball, and the fact that one of his hobbies outside of acting is cobbling. He described Sandra Bullock as fun to work with “though she drinks a lot” and said that he disappointed the Coen brothers with his singing while filming O’ Brother Where Art Thou.
One a more serious note, he talked about the aims of his and John Pendergast’s Satellite Sentinel project, which aims to send photos of war atrocities to the Hague in an attempt to put an end to violence in places like Sudan.
