Young filmmaker and entrepreneur Kaitlyn August to receive 2022 Clayton Feig Youth Award by Epilepsy Florida. She was chosen in recognition of outstanding and creative efforts by a youth with epilepsy who serves as an instrumental source of inspiration to others.

This award is given by Epilepsy Florida to youth who highlight the important work of those who are dedicated to removing the stigma and misunderstandings associated with epilepsy. It was established in memory of Clayton Feig, a young man who demonstrated courage and strength of character while dealing with epilepsy.

Kaitlyn August is currently working on a short film about her experience as a survivor in the Parkland School Shooting and using her art as a means for healing. She has always had a passion for the arts and participated in many theater and acting classes throughout her elementary and middle school years. She continued her artistic endeavors in high school where she was very active in her school’s color guard when she wasn’t performing. Outside of her studies, Kaitlyn started creating her own jewelry and currently showcases her creations on he Instagram account.

She will receive her award, alongside other notable Florida youth, on March 27, 2022 in Hollywood, FL as part of the “Walk the Talk” walk-a-thon and participate as part of a walk team of family and friends while advancing the cause of epilepsy awareness.
