CHICAGO, IL, February 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — Metaverse Radio (WMVR-db Chicago), an active voice on metaversal development and “web3” activities, announced earlier this month the start of Metaverse Cyber Time (MCT), Phase 1, representing the beginning of marking standardized time within the Metaverse. Since making the announcement, Metaverse Radio reports an uptick in the online usage of MCT and is pleased with its reception by time zone aggregators and Metaverse participants alike. According to Metaverse Radio’s Chief Standards Officer, “Advocates of Metaverse Cyber Time (or MCT) include video gamers, Metaverse musicians, and a host of other web3 users.”
• Metaverse Cyber Time (MCT) based on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) minus (-) six (6) hours
• MCT not subject to Daylight Saving Time (DST) adjustments
• Avoiding ambiguity, MCT is referenced in accordance with the 24-hour clock, often called “military time”
MCT is based on the default Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) minus (-) 06:00 hours and unlike many standard time calculations, MCT is not adjusted for Daylight Saving Time.
Earlier this month, Metaverse Radio unveiled an internet reference page now available at www.MetaverseCyberTime.com (note: information provided at www.MetaverseCyberTime.com is subject to “time lag” and other errors and is not intended as a scientific or technical source reference; instead, it is intended for entertainment purposes only).
Scheduling within the Metaverse has proven to be challenging for activities whose participants are often located in different and geographically distant time zones. Prior to MCT’s designation, the framework defining MCT was referred to by some as “Metaverse Radio Standard Time.”
Proponents of MCT believe the establishment of the Metaverse’s own time zone has already increased understanding of and confidence in the Metaverse, and they look forward to the Phase 2 information rollout in the months ahead.
