According to National Veteran Foundation, nearly 1.5 million American veterans live in poverty, many of which can’t afford to pay for the bare necessities, to pay bills, and either have faced or are currently on eviction notice:
“Although veterans have a lower poverty rate than other Americans, 6.9 percent vs. 14.4 percent in 2012, the simple fact that almost 1.5 million veterans live in poverty in the United States is reprehensible. The veteran poverty rate for vets aged between 18 and 34 is higher than all other age groups. This group, of course, means that the veterans of the Gulf War and Afghanistan have higher poverty rates than other veterans.”
Veterans have devoted their lives to protecting their nation, the very lives they’ve risked on numerous occasions, only to be left by the wayside once they are shipped back home. Southern Empowerment Organization Inc. is a nonprofit charity organization founded to provide financial aid to veterans who are not able to pay utility bills and rent.
The brand encourages all charitable souls to donate and give a beacon of hope for veterans who’ve ensured their lives, homes, and property were safe during troubling times. The organization’s spokesperson and founder stated he was always drawn to veterans and wanted to give back to the brave men and women who defended his country, stating:
“Ever since I was a kid, I always had an interest in veterans and their courage on the battlefields in foreign countries. It made me realize at an early age I wanted to help veterans. Over the years, my interests have grown in helping our veterans and offering support for the service in keeping our country free.”
Southern Empowerment Organization Inc. is also committed to helping veterans achieve their VA benefits. Veteran Affairs (VA) presents numerous advantages to eligible candidates; the process is complex. Many veterans need to consult and pay lawyers to get the most out of their VA benefits.
Many forfeit their VA benefits or become content with breadcrumbs because hundreds of thousands of US veterans can’t afford professional legal counsel, let alone adequate legal representation. Southern Empowerment Organization Inc. assists veterans by helping them file documents to get a variety of Veteran Affairs benefits.
Southern Empowerment Organization Inc. is devoted to rallying as many individuals, companies, and organizations to “join the cause by contributing and helping veterans pay their utility bills and rents.”
Donations can be made on Southern Empowerment Organization’s website, and all help is welcome. More information about Southern Empowerment Organization Inc. is available on the organization’s official website and social media channels.
