Fashion news, social and eCommerce site POSHGLAM announces its shift to a luxury social marketplace for the industry. To date, the site has served as a luxury news outlet and eCommerce website for fashion designers, brands and trends. POSHGLAM will now work with world-class luxury designers to promote and sell luxury products on the new eCommerce platform. To coincide with Black History Month, New York Fashion Week and Valentine’s Day, the new site will launch on February 14th.
A shift to a new marketplace aims to diversify luxury brands that are still hesitant to do business with third parties and e-commerce. A lot of this reluctance comes from luxury brands fearing a loss of intellectual property and a personal connection when selling online. Brands have been wary to entrust that responsibility to a third party. With the shift and focus to a luxury social marketplace, brands and vendors are able to connect with consumers directly, so they aren’t losing the personal connection. As a result, there will be more luxury brands entering the eCommerce world with the ability to act as a concierge via the luxury social marketplace. Founder, entrepreneur and model Kimberly Stone states that:
“We are very excited about our shift to a luxury social marketplace and we plan to do this while continuing to deliver the content our devotees have come to love and trust POSHGLAM for.” – Founder Kimberly Stone
The site launched in May 2005, as the brainchild of Kimberly Stone, a model and entrepreneur. It supports established and emerging luxury designers and sets the standard for what’s new in fashion. The site’s news on: brands and designers, events and trends make it a great destination for those in the fashion industry or for fashion enthusiasts. It has developed a massive following in more than 147 countries. The site is an international go-to platform for fashion and beauty intel.
