Optimized Cart experience to boost eCommerce sales by 77% in 2022 – Asher Ali Mirza Made the Book

As we all know, 2021 brought a massive ‘one-tap shop’ trend through eCommerce. Ecommerce sales are projected to increase from $4.9 trillion in 2021 to $6.4 trillion in 2024, while its penetration rates are forecast to expand from 20.4% in 2022 to 25% in 2025. By 2022, mobile commerce sales will rise to $3.79 trillion.

We connected with emerging digital marketing consultant & eCommerce Ad Specialist Asher Ali Mirza, founder of Digitalmelons, to understand the eCommerce boom from 2022. In a recent discussion, Asher, a digital strategy consultant said, “Shopping cart abandonment is a serious issue going into 2022, with many businesses looking at different ways to streamline their checkout experience. And, if you are not offering a guest checkout option on your store, you are missing out. You must offer a guest checkout if you want to improve your cart abandonment rate.”

Digital Strategy Consultant Asher Mirza focused on several aspects of stale eCommerce that eventually led to a massive loss to business and damage to brand value. He mentioned complex checkout steps, hidden charges, doubts over security, lack of payment or shipping options, and slow hosting as critical reasons for buyers’ “bad online shopping” experience.

Focusing on eCommerce to-dos for 2022, Asher emphasized smooth speed, a user-friendly checkout page, and cost transparency as principles for a conversion-focused sales & social media marketing strategy. He said, “The customer should know exactly how much they will be charged when they are about to check out. A progress bar eases it for customers to get a clear idea about how much information they need to provide before checking out. If you see the checkout page of Nike, you will notice that they show a simple progress indicator. Along with just having a pretty website, every shop now triggers the selling value -a complicated checkout system can irritate your customers to abandon the cart. Your checkout process isn’t the only part of your path to sales that needs consistent optimization consideration.”

Asher Ali Mirza referred to his eCommerce analysis mentioned earlier on his Instagram by saying that 1/5 of shoppers abandon a cart due to a too long or complicated checkout process. Optimize your checkout process to turn more visitors into customers, as it invariably plays a vital role in endorsing the shopping decision that your customer has made. “It should not disrupt the amount of information on the page, but it provides a clear indication of the pages the user will have to browse through before they can finally check out. Still, it’s undoubtedly one of the most crucial parts of the process that you can’t skip. Sadly, it is often overlooked.”

Asher Mirza owns a Digital Marketing Agency and has been acing digital marketing for the past eight years, catering to eCommerce, Amazon dropshipping, Real Estate, Education, & Healthcare – in international and local industries. He further expressed, “As long as you pay attention to what your customers want, you can easily overcome such eCommerce challenges. Future e-commerce trends rely on optimized carts, which will impact the overall user experience.”

Online customers do not want to waste a lot of time and energy just to get their payments- similar to long queues at supermarts -which can often kill their shopping enthusiasm, and it’s essential to plan your eCommerce website or application for good budget conversion campaigns with a well-developed digital marketing strategy.
