In a bid to raise awareness of the severe global warming changes in the past 80 years, Vita Coco, the leading coconut water brand gathered celebrities for an upcoming series “Are People Getting Hotter?”.
Sonja Morgan, the famous TV personality and star of The Real Housewives of New York City; Sean Taylor, a contestant from a hugely popular show The Circle, and Tony Posnanski, a self-proclaimed “coconut water hater” came together to address the question at hand and breathe comedy and realism into the brand’s new show.
Satire is the first layer of the iceberg that “Are People Getting Hotter” is. The stars touch on the society’s obsession with outward appearances, physique, and fashion trends, underpinning the heavy emphasis most people put on proverbial “hotness”.
However, the core of “Are People Getting Hotter” addresses the same points Vita Coco strives to with its products and community contributions – global change impacts.
According to Vita Coco, the show is purposefully equivocal in nature. The brand doesn’t want the viewers to simply adopt its stance on making the world a greener place – the purpose of the show is to raise awareness of the pressing concerns in rising temperatures and to pique interest in audiences so that each viewer is inspired to research the matter and form their own opinions.
