ALL EYES ON STORYTELLER & FILMMAKER BUD REBEL
Writer, producer and actor Bruce Weinfeld aka “Bud Rebel” has been working in the film industry for fifteen years – with his first commercial success, All Screwed Up released in 2009. With many titles under his belt, including 2023’s Serial Killer, Restaurant Return, Night Terror and Ghost Friend, it’s his upcoming film The Undead that’s got people talking ahead of its worldwide release this year.
Following a theatrical run, the movie is now headed to streaming for a worldwide release with the official NYC Premiere March 10th. On making the movie and his vision behind it, Bud had to say "It's amazing seeing your words come to light on the big screen and the impact they can have on the audience.”
On working alongside horror filmmaker and newcomer Director Mena Guy, Bud added “Myself and Mena work so well together because she asks all the important questions, is one of the coolest cats under pressure and won't stop till the work is done no matter how many yawns are in between. She truly takes the time to understand my creative vision and writing, with a passion to bring them to life!”
A consistent yet subtle theme in many of Bud’s projects is social and impacting messages on topics such as mental health awareness, family tragedy and always remaining true to yourself in a world where you’re pressured to “fit in”. This is also something that translates over to Bud’s podcast “The Bud Rebel Show” which is quickly gaining popularity and has featured interviews with incredible actors such as Bourke Floyd, Tanna Frederick and Abby Gumper. Incredible Producer Jack Cook and people with amazing stories such as Bruce Bukiet whose two parents lived the American dream after coming to this country penniless and suffering from the Holocaust.
Originally from New York and where Bud still resides today, this iconic city and state that Mr Rebel calls home, has been the backdrop for many of his films and today podcast too. On recording and filming in New York Mr Rebel noted, “bringing my vision back to my hometown NY warms my heart as I see a beauty in this state that I didn't see before.”
Pushing the boundaries and producing quality content on an independent budget, seems to be something Mr Rebel has perfected, as evident in the digital content he streams on Youtube under his “Bud Rebel Productions” bracket, boasting over 200 videos and new uploads and content weekly.
With new Bud Rebel content available weekly and more stories to come from this creative and dynamic storyteller, we wanted to know what’s on the horizon for Bud and when we can expect Bud Rebel Production’s next release. “I'm looking at several scripts for my next production but the current favorites are Seduction and A Hell Can Wait. One’s a sexy horror film and another a complex comedy.”
Adding to that, “I realize that time is short so I’m looking to work with other talent to insure that many of the visions I have can achieve success, not just for me but all those involved with these projects” said Mr Rebel.
