The Ecuadorian David Xavier Sánchez, 28, has been appointed as Ambassador and Permanent Observer of the International Youth Organization (IYO) to the United Nations, leading nearly 160 million young people in the Ibero-American region. This distinguished appointment highlights the importance of his leadership and commitment to global youth causes.

Business and Academic Background

David Xavier Sánchez is a prominent businessman and the founder of Daxsen Corp, a holding company with diversified enterprises in sectors such as education, marketing, the music industry, real estate, and investments. He graduated in Economics from the University of Southampton in London and holds over 150 certifications in finance, marketing, and business from prestigious universities like Yale, Columbia, Duke, and UPenn. Additionally, he specialized in Applied Data Science with Python at the University of Michigan and in International Business at the University of London.

His professional experience includes interviews with significant entrepreneurs and activists such as Susan Rockefeller, Adam Weitsmann, Jan Koum, Jordan Belfort, Andrea Catsimatidis, Marc Randolph, and Jaha Dukure, demonstrating his ability to establish valuable connections and his influence in the business and social spheres.

Previous Experience and Contributions

Before assuming his current role, David served as an advisor on global corporate affairs, a position he was appointed to in 2022. During his tenure, he participated in various events addressing issues such as health, education, and employment focused on youth. He also represented the IYO at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2023 and held meetings with prominent figures like Deepak Chopra, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and other community and government leaders.

Among his notable contributions, David organized a roundtable on "Youth Empowerment: Supporting Youth through Government," which included diplomats and influential figures such as the Ecuadorian Diana Jácome, current government advisor to the President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa Azín.

Current Initiatives and Future Projects

In his role as ambassador and permanent observer, David Xavier Sánchez works closely with Isabel Noboa, one of Ecuador's most influential businesswomen and executive president of Nobis, the country's largest investment holding. Together, they are developing an ambitious educational program that awards merit-based scholarships in Ecuador, aiming to strengthen the educational system and offer development opportunities to students and teachers in public schools.

One of David's most notable projects is the creation of the Council of Global Change, which acts as the IYO's board of directors and is dedicated to addressing significant global issues. This council focuses on closing the economic gap, strengthening education, and improving access to healthcare through close collaboration with governments and a focus on sustainable structural changes.
