St. Francis Center Announces New CEO

DENVER, CO / ACCESSWIRE / April 18, 2023 / St. Francis Center, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive services to people experiencing homelessness, today announced the appointment of Nancy Burke as its new CEO.

Nancy Burke brings more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector to St. Francis Center. Most recently, she served as Special Assistant to the President and CEO for Housing and COVID-19 response programs for the United Way of Anchorage. Prior to that, she served as Housing and Homeless Services Coordinator in the Office of the Mayor, Municipality of Anchorage.

"We're thrilled that Nancy will take the reins and lead St. Francis Center, building upon the strong foundation that Tom Luehrs has built over the last thirty-plus years. Nancy brings an incredible balance of hands-on experience, strategic focus, and a deep appreciation for the wonderful work of St. Francis Center's staff," said Ben Kapnik, St. Francis Center Board Chair.

Nancy is a graduate of the University of Rochester and holds a master's degree in social work from Syracuse University.

St. Francis Center Denver is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive services to people experiencing homelessness. The organization operates a variety of programs and services, including:

  • Day Center Services
  • Permanent supportive housing
  • Employment services and placement
  • Mental health and substance abuse treatment
  • Street outreach and safe outdoor spaces management

St. Francis Center Denver serves more than 9,000 people each year. The organization is funded by a combination of government grants, private donations, and earned income.
