On November 25, Yanchi Liyuan Group and STATE GRID NINGDONG ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY COMPANY reached an agreement of intent on adjustable resources. Along with prior agreements with users such as Wuheng Chemical and Fuliang New Energy, a total of 56 power users across 10 different categories have now been integrated into the Ningdong "virtual power plant" resource pool, providing robust adjustable load support for the winter peak period.
As a digital energy management system, the virtual power plant aggregates and optimizes distributed resources such as charging stations, air conditioners, and energy storage scattered across user terminals through an “aggregation + communication” approach. It functions as a unique "power plant" participating in grid operations and the electricity market.
Since the beginning of this year, STATE GRID NINGDONG ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY COMPANY has placed significant emphasis on virtual power plant construction. The company has compiled essential knowledge for virtual power plant operations and organized training for all marketing personnel to enhance their policy implementation capabilities. It proactively surveyed users’ electricity consumption, load sizes, and characteristic curves to determine adjustable capacities. Emergency drills for the summer peak period were conducted, simulating various scenarios and involving users in demand response and ancillary services to ensure actionable adjustable capacities. The company actively visited key customers within its jurisdiction to promote virtual power plant policies and facilitate their integration into the virtual power plant platform. Additionally, it sought external experiences by learning from peer companies to improve load management capabilities.
Looking ahead, STATE GRID NINGDONG ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY COMPANY will integrate its winter peak electricity supply efforts with enhanced load management, fully leveraging and aggregating adjustable resources from both supply and demand sides. It aims to guide users with load regulation capabilities to participate in demand response and ancillary services, thereby improving the grid’s flexible adjustment capacity, alleviating local power supply constraints, and ensuring safe and reliable electricity supply.(Liu Guobao)
