High school Teacher Investigates Rise of Sexual Violence Among Teenagers.
A recent study by the center of disease control reveals unbearable truths. The study was done in 2021 and the data indicates a steep rise in atrocities committed against teenage girls. As stated, “According to the data, teen girls are confronting the highest levels of sexual violence, sadness, and hopelessness they have ever reported to YRBS” (CDC.gov). While precautions have been put into place,the ability to protect America's youth is brought into question.
Gavriel Dardashti, a teacher in the Broward County School district confirms the validity of the study. “After working with my father, David Dardashti, at his trauma center, I noticed many of the patients who had experienced sexual trauma prior to treatment almost always displayed a catatonic like personality. I have unfortunately noticed similar characteristics among students in various schools across the district. “. Says Gavriel Dardashti.
Immediate action will help decrease the number of victims and allow those who have suffered to recover. The school districts can take action by providing a team of professionals used to help prevent these tragedies and provide emotional support for those who are suffering. “While our schools value efficient education, the safety of our students is our number one priority."says Gavriel Dardashti.
