Hainan, China – October 15, 2024 – Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, one of China's first national parks, has announced the official launch of the “Rainforest ‘Gibbon’ Ecology – Hainan Gibbon IP Design Competition”. The competition aims to strengthen the protection and promotion of the tropical rainforest ecosystem and rare wildlife, such as the Hainan gibbon, while highlighting the unique ecological and scientific value of Hainan's tropical rainforest. This initiative will enhance the brand image of the national park and showcase China’s achievements in biodiversity conservation to the world.
Hosted by the Hainan Forestry Department (Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park Administration) and organized by the Hainan Cultural Investment Management Co., Ltd., the competition is supported by Hainan University’s School of International Communication and Art and the Hainan Cultural and Creative Research Institute. The competition seeks to gather outstanding designs that precisely convey the charm, ecological significance, and cultural value of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park.
Submissions will be accepted from October 15 to November 15, 2024.
The competition is open to global designers, design teams, art school students, and design enthusiasts.
Each submission must meet the requirements of the competition across eight categories, with digital formats preferred. Entries must be submitted as a compressed package titled with the competition name and designer’s name (e.g., "Gibbon IP Design Competition_Designer Name") to the competition email hainancia@163.com by November 15, 2024, 24:00.
After the submission deadline, a panel of experts specializing in tropical rainforest biodiversity, ethnic culture, and artistic design will evaluate the entries based on scientific accuracy, artistic merit, and public appeal.
The results will be announced through official media channels by the end of November 2024.
