UK-based brand marketing firm, Flintlock Marketing, is marking its tenth birthday. Following a decade of rapid growth, the company has developed a strong track record based on a unique sparking process and a focus on laser-sharp analyses of business goals to prepare clients for success.
Flintlock Marketing began as a small team of passionate brand marketers. While the company has expanded substantially, it continues to offer a personalised service that attracts ambitious British and multinational firms from across the sectors.
Founders Tasha Gladman and Graham Appleyard launched Flintlock in 2014, bringing together 20 years of corporate experience as motivated brand marketers known for their collaborative, dynamic style and ability to get to the core of what a brand stands for.
The firm took on its initial project of repositioning the branding of Hovis, the bakery brand, following an acquisition by a private equity firm that wanted to reset and refresh its marketing. The new owners split responsibilities for communications, commercial, and strategic brand analysis.
Outcomes from this early work showcased the efficacy of the brand marketing model, which catalysed growth and fast results, highlighting the importance of quick-thinking, agile brand marketers who brought creative energy to 'spark' transformation.
Since then, the Flintlock team has enjoyed numerous high-profile successes, including interim, project-based and consultancy work with brands including B&Q, Co-Op Foods, Boots, Decathlon, Vitaccess Costa, Dulux, Unilever, Matalan, Caffe Nero, Pizza Express, Pepsi Lipton and Bird’s Eye.

Like everyone, we had to adapt quickly when lockdown happened. This sped up our focus on expanding our proposition and working with some exciting mid-cap and scaling businesses and brands. Today, our clients represent a huge diversity of industries and sectors, from unmanned aviation and AI to inspiring British heritage and luxury brands.
