Southern Bone & Joint Specialists recently welcomed Dr. Josh Maddox, Dr. Cory Smith, and Dr. Shea Taylor to the growing practice to better serve the community.

Dr. Josh Maddox, a Dothan native, is trained in Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement and is fellowship-trained in minimally invasive and traditional Spine surgery. Josh attended Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine for Medical School in Dothan, AL. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency in Detroit, Michigan at Mclaren Orthopedic Surgery Residency (Michigan State University Residency), and his Spine Fellowship at Andrews Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL.

Dr. Cory Daniel Smith, a Dothan native, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Samford University in Birmingham and earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Smith completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and he trained at Hoag Orthopedic Institute. He also completed the prestigious UniSports fellowship in Auckland, New Zealand.

Dr. Shea Taylor, a Florida native, attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa and completed his residency at the University of South Florida/Florida Orthopedic Institute. He completed his fellowship training in hip and knee replacement and revision joint replacement at Dartmouth Health in New Hampshire.
