Ralston Introduces Beyond Measurement(TM) to Express Its Longstanding Mission

Ralston Instruments has introduced its new tagline, Beyond Measurement, a phrase that captures more than five decades of practical innovation and customer-driven solutions in calibration and testing.

A Legacy of Innovation

In 1968, while selling pressure switches, founder Doug Ralston came across a challenge in a steel mill.

The system was fully mechanical and couldn't be tested in place. To check it, the line had to be shut down, with a union electrician and a union pipefitter brought in to disconnect it before sending the equipment to a shop for inspection.

"He got tired of waiting," recalls Griffin Ralston, Doug's son and current CEO. "So he developed a product that let people do the tests themselves in the field."

That invention, the world's first pneumatic hand pump, eliminated those delays and set the foundation for a company built on solving practical, real-world problems.
