PRZen / ATLANTA -- At some point, in the game of life, everyone will find themselves sitting on the bench waiting for their time to shine, according to Ammishaddai Grand-Jean, who announces the re-launch of his book called
Benchwarmer: What to Do When You're on the Bench of Life. The millennial author, affectionately known as the "B.S. Guy" (Benchwarmer Specialist) on social media, offers tips and strategies on how people can overcome some of the setbacks and pitfalls they may face throughout their lives. Ammishaddai says after COVID hit in 2020, he found himself on the bench of life with two Bachelor degrees and a Master's degree. It was during that time he decided to write the book.
"Since COVID, there have been many people struggling to find some sense of normalcy," according to Ammishaddai. Some feel stuck on the bench of life with no direction, but he says that's the best time to evaluate what you need to do to get off the bench and back into the game. He admits it may take longer for some but there can be tremendous value in sitting on the bench while strategizing your next moves.
"When you're out of the game, for whatever reason, that's the time to regroup and come up with a new game plan. It's also an important time to reflect on what may have gone wrong and how you can avoid similar mistakes in the future."
Ammishaddai adds, "I have been a benchwarmer on a number of occasions in my young life, but each time I get off the bench I am more mentally prepared for the challenges I may face."
