The Double Dutch Contest Shanghai Vol. 7 Grandly Held, 651 Athletes from 8 Countries and Regions Showcase Thrilling Competitions

Shanghai, China--(Newsfile Corp. - November 15, 2023) - On November 11-12, the Double Dutch Contest Shanghai Vol. 7 was successfully held. Athletes from China, Hong Kong, Macau, France, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Thailand, a total of 8 countries and regions, delivered exciting performances in the competition.

Double Dutch is a globally significant jump rope sport, drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese jump rope activities while incorporating modern elements. This sport is not restricted by age or gender and features creative and challenging moves, setting it apart from traditional jump rope routines.

Shanghai has been hosting Double Dutch competitions since 2014, aiming to lead the global development of jump rope sports through this single event. The contest has been held for seven editions, attracting nearly 400 teams so far and gaining significant recognition in the international jump rope community.

The opening ceremony featured a performance combining traditional Chinese percussion instruments with modern jump rope routines to welcome Double Dutch athletes from around the world, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

The addition of the popular single rope event received continuous cheers from the audience, providing not only a stage for professional athletes to showcase their skills but also enhancing the spectators' experience and engagement.

Qingpu, one of Shanghai's "Five New Cities," is a thriving hub for jump rope sports. Since the vigorous promotion of jump rope culture in 2010, several townships here have earned the title of "Jump Rope Town." In 2019, in collaboration with neighboring cities, Qingpu incubated the Yangtze River Delta Jump Rope Championship, contributing to the ecological and green integrated development of the region through sports.
