Searches Spike for 'Turkey Surgeries' Across the UK
Thousands of Britons are researching 'Turkey Surgeries' every month according to new data from O'Flynn Medical.

In the last number of years there has been a growing number of Britons booking in for medical procedures abroad, predominantly in Turkey. Often these surgeries can be far cheaper compared to what people may pay in the UK for the same procedure, and it appears that the lure is quite strong.
Medical Equipment suppliers O'Flynn Medical have examined Google search data from the past 2 years and it shows that the British public are searching for cheap surgery alternatives in their thousands every month.
??Weight Loss Surgery & The Dangers
Bariatric Surgery is the term given to a number of medical procedures which are used to lose weight. O'Flynn Medical, who specialise in Bariatric Equipment can reveal that on average there are around 1.3 thousand searches for the term 'Gastric Band Turkey' across the UK per month, while there are 4.4 thousand searches for the term 'Gastric Sleeve Turkey'.
Monthly searches for both terms have been quite high over the past 2 years, however searches for 'Gastric Band Turkey' exploded by 525% in April of this year.
There was a similar trend in April with searches for Gastric Sleeves, with search traffic jumping 108% in April as various news outlets reported on individuals suffering with complications from travelling aboard for these procedures.
"People travelling abroad for surgeries is nothing new, but it's imperative that people are aware of the dangers of certain procedures before proceeding. Bariatric surgeries, like any surgery, can be risky and there can be complications like infections, clots, malnutrition or even leaks," noted Conor O'Flynn, Operations Manager at O'Flynn Medical.
Cosmetic Procedures - Tummy Tucks & Hair Transplants
Users across the nation are searching in their thousands for cheaper alternatives. There are roughly 1.9 thousand searches per month for the term 'Tummy Tuck Turkey' whilst 'Liposuction Turkey' clocks in at around 1.6 thousand. The data also highlights that the vast majority of these searches occur in the Spring/Summer months, as people may pair up their procedure with a holiday.
"Procedures like tummy tucks and liposuctions are heavily regulated in the UK. For example, with liposuctions that take place in the UK system there are certain limits on the amount of fat that can be removed ??at a time. Searches for the term 'Hair Transplant Turkey' also peaked at an all time high in January of this year, up 47% from the previous year. There are an estimated 14 thousand searches for this term per month, as members of the British public look abroad to improve their hairlines.
