These include: studying job specifications and analyzing construction methods to determine costs for estimates; contacting subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors for the purpose of coming up with quotes; doing manual and/or digital plan takeoffs for project scopes and quantities; attending pre-bid meetings and site visits for the purpose of estimating; accurately predicting the expenses for earthwork and utility scopes for proposals; always striving for the best, most accurate estimates for the best results and goals; elucidating the budgets and expenses to the field personnel and to project management during construction; having an ownership attitude and the willingness to grow and mentor other members of the team; and meeting with owners, engineers, subcontractors, construction managers, and suppliers to nurture relationships and achieve the goals of the company.
The Estimator position is full-time and the pay will be a minimum of $75,000 per year, and may be substantially more based on the experience and skills of the successful candidate.
