RALEIGH, NC / ACCESSWIRE / March 30, 2023 / Reed Murphy, a first-time children's book author and father, has released Dinosaurs Don't Have Butts, a heartwarming and humorous tale based on his own daughter's experience with alopecia totalis. The book, which celebrates the unique qualities that make us all special, is set to coincide with Children with Alopecia Day on April 14th.
Dinosaurs Don't Have Butts tells the story of Lily, a little girl who talks about the endearing traits of dinosaurs but is curious why they have no butts. Through Lily's journey, readers of all ages are taken on an adventure that emphasizes the importance of self-love and acceptance, regardless of our differences. The book's colorful illustrations by Claudia Fasser bring the book to life, making it an ideal read for children 4-12.
Reed wrote Dinosaurs Don't Have Butts to inspire and support children who are living with alopecia, a condition that affects 1 in every 1000 children and teens. Reed, who himself has a daughter with alopecia, understands the challenges these children face daily and hopes this book will raise awareness and understanding, as well as comfort those affected. Over half of those living with alopecia say that it limits their social interaction with others. Reed says about Lily "She has dealt with this incredibly well, she's a light and a delight to all who meet her. Don't get me wrong, there are times when she gets tired of people staring, or wishes she had hair."
Dinosaurs don't have butts is available in both paperback and ebook formats on Amazon and other retailers. For more information about Dinosaurs Don't Have Butts, visit www.ReedMurphy.com or contact Reed Murphy at (919) 923-0014 or info@reedmurphy.com
