EFA professionals provide a variety of services to authors, including developmental editing and copy editing, proofreading, book design and typesetting, and indexing. They also offer assistance with author platform-building and creating promotions and marketing materials.
"We're delighted to be back in person at AWP," says Kristen Tate, EFA Events chairperson. "It's such a wonderful opportunity to connect with authors at all stages of their careers, academics, and the publishing community."
The first AWP conference, held in 1973 at the Library of Congress, featured six events and 16 presenters. AWP has grown to be the largest literary conference in North America, drawing thousands of writers, editors, and publishers, and featuring hundreds of events. The concurrent Bookfair will feature hundreds of exhibitors, including presses, journals, and literary organizations.
Founded in 1970, the EFA is a national nonprofit professional organization with over 3,200 members, including writers, editors, copy editors, proofreaders, indexers, translators and others who work in publishing, communications and related fields.
EFA MissionThe EFA advances excellence among our dynamic community of freelance editorial professionals by providing opportunities for business development, learning, and networking. Our resources help our members and their clients build successful collaborations.
"The Editorial Freelancers Association just might be the book publishing industry's most powerful secret weapon …" – Publishers Weekly
