RICHARD D’COSTA: A MULTIFACETED ARTIST WHO ROSE ABOVE THE ADVERSITIES

Mumbai, India – Richard D’Costa, a renowned singer, choreographer, music composer, and performer, has been a prominent figure in the dance and music industry in Mumbai since 2011. He is the proud owner of Richard’s Academy of Dance & Arts, an international dance company that has been inspiring and training young dancers in the city. However, his journey to success has not been easy.

Richard’s passion for music and dance started at a very young age. While his peers were busy playing outside, he was honing his skills in dance and music. He was determined to make a name for himself in the world of performing arts. Richard moved to Mumbai from Kolkata in 2009, hoping to pursue his dreams. Unfortunately, tragedy struck him just as he was beginning his journey. He lost his father, and suddenly, he had to take on the responsibility of supporting his family.

Despite the challenges he faced, Richard did not give up. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family while juggling his passion for dance and singing. His dedication and hard work paid off when he got the opportunity to participate in a reality show called Just Dance, which aired on Star Plus. This opened up many doors for him and paved the way for his successful career in dancing. He was fortunate to have worked with some of the top-notch choreographers in the industry, including Remo D’Souza, Terence Lewis, Geeta Kapoor, Vaibhavi Merchant, and actors/artists like Sharukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Honey Singh, Badshah, AR Rahman, among others.

Not content with just dancing, Richard also wanted to improve his singing skills. He started singing in cafes and followed his father’s style of music – Jazz. Richard’s father was a saxophonist, and he was greatly influenced by Jazz music.

Richard’s passion for dancing and music took him to the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center in New York City, where he trained and took open classes to brush up his dancing skills. He was determined to become the best in his field and was not afraid of hard work and dedication.

Now, after years of struggle and tribulations, Richard has finally produced his first-ever single called Ex$tacy.

The song was written by Soham Majumdar, and the music was produced by Beats by Jonty. Richard composed and sang the music himself, and the music video was conceptualized and produced by himself. This single marks a significant milestone in his career, and he hopes to continue producing more music that will inspire and touch people’s hearts.
