(New York City, New York) – When the echoes of the Nigerian Independence Day parade fall silent this October 7th, a vibrant celebration of Afrobeat is set to come alive under the stars at Nigerian Independence Day Party 2023 NYC. The iconic NaijaPalooza returns, featuring the incomparable DJ Jimmy Jatt at the helm, with DJ TEE BONE, Nestreya, Madarocka, the talented DJ El-G spinning as well, and a special appearance by South African TV host Hope Mbhele!
First and foremost, the night belongs to DJ Jimmy Jatt, an undeniable pillar in the Afrobeat world. With collaborations with giants like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Mr. Eazi under his belt, Jatt’s sets are more than music – they’re a journey through the vibrant tapestry of Afrobeat, with every transition and beat resonating with the genre’s heart and soul.
Excitement brews with the announcement of DJ El-G joining the all Nigerian DJ line-up. Known for his innate ability to get the crowd moving, El-G is a powerhouse of talent, ready to showcase his skill and contribute to the intoxicating atmosphere with his electrifying sets.
The Queen of Afrobeats Hip Hop herself, Madarocka, is set to entertain with her dynamic energy. Fresh from remixing “Jaga Jaga” with Eedris Abdulkareem, she’s a musical force embodying the raw and nostalgic spirit of early Afrobeat sounds, adding a layer of historical richness to the evening’s proceedings.
With a style that’s both reverential towards the Afrobeat classics and enthusiastically embracing modern beats, DJ TEE BONE is in the house to deliver a set that is a sonorous celebration of Afrobeat’s past, present, and future.
All eyes will be on the multi-talented Nestreya as she makes an appearance, ready to enchant with her melodic voice and magnetic presence, bringing an additional layer of elegance and excitement to the night.
And for an extra dash of glamour, South African TV Host and correspondent, Hope Mbhele, will be making a special appearance, bringing her charismatic presence and adding international flair to this celebration of music and culture.
Dr. Celestine O. Chukumba and Charles Ejiogu, Esq. are thrilled to present this unforgettable night. “Envision a symphony of Afrobeat with Jimmy Jatt, Madarocka, TEE BONE, Nestreya, and DJ El-G,” Dr. Chukumba enthuses, “then add Hope Mbhele to the mix, and you’ve got an unparalleled celebration!”
