According to reports from the World Health Organization, respiratory allergies are among the most prevalent chronic health conditions. Dust mites, microscopic arachnids that live in bedding, mattresses, upholstered furniture, and carpets, account for 70% of all respiratory allergies, and allergic reactions to these pests are often the result of exposure to proteins present in their fecal material or dead bodies. Dust mite allergens can also cause itchiness and rashes, and their presence may exacerbate skin conditions such as eczema.
While vacuuming, dusting, and washing clothes regularly will remove dust mites, personal hygiene is also an important factor in deterring their spread, as dead skin cells are one of their main food sources. Humans can shed up to five billion skin cells daily, and Leon notes that repeatedly using the same bath towel for more than a week can facilitate the transfer of dead skin cells to and from the body, creating the ideal environment for the pests. As such, he developed the 1aDay Bath Towels, which feature a paneled design that allows customers to use a clean side of the towel each day.
Made of premium, 600 GSM cotton for high absorbency, the towels are divided into four horizontal sections, with two on the front and two on the back. Each section is labeled by day to help customers keep track of which side they have already used, ensuring that no part of the towel is reused before it is washed. Accordingly, purchased towels will come in a set of two, with one towel denoting use for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and the second one with sections marked for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, along with an extra panel.
By using the products to maintain their personal hygiene, customers will be able to reduce their exposure to dust mites, thereby also reducing the chances of developing respiratory and skin conditions caused by the pests.
