The announcement comes as North Carolina was recently ranked ninth in the US for human trafficking - with the leading trafficking venues including massage spas, hotels, and escort/delivery services. Official figures show just the tip of the iceberg, with the overwhelming majority of trafficking going unreported, explains Abuse Guardian.

"Recognizing the signs of trafficking and reporting any suspicious activities to law enforcement or anti-trafficking organizations is crucial in addressing this problem," says Kristen. "If you suspect someone is a victim of trafficking, you can call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 for help and guidance."

Signs of potential trafficking and abuse include the presence of physical injuries, malnourishment, poor physical or dental health, and avoiding eye contact, among others.

Kristen recommends that survivors always contact a human trafficking attorney to ensure their rights are adequately represented and maximize the chances of obtaining full compensation for their pain, suffering, lost wages, therapy, and others.

An experienced attorney will be assist survivors in collecting all the necessary evidence - and holding all parties accountable, which can often include suing the venue where the abuse took place.

"The prevalence of sex trafficking in the hospitality industry underscores the need for accountability measures," says Kristen. "By holding these businesses responsible for their role in enabling such heinous crimes, we can contribute significantly to the fight against sex trafficking. Efforts should be made to raise awareness among employees and management about the signs and indicators of sex trafficking, so they can identify potential victims and report suspicious activities."

Part of Abuse Guardian, a network of dedicated sexual abuse attorneys committed to upholding the rights of survivors, Kristen has access to a wide range of resources to ensure her clients' rights are adequately represented. She offers free, no-obligation confidential consultations to help survivors and families take the first steps to getting justice and obtaining compensation.
