NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / May 8, 2023 / Recharge.city, a powerbank rental service, has successfully installed over 1,000 charging stations in New York City. The SAAS-company provides charging stations at convenient locations in New York City, allowing users to rent powerbanks to keep their devices charged and stay connected while on-the-go.

A person can take the powerbank with them and return it to another location anytime.

It's free for an hour or costs $5 per a day.

As an active phone user who needed to stay connected for work constantly, serial entrepreneur, and the founder of Recharge.cityMaksim Kamaletdinov, realized that carrying a charger or a second phone was not a viable solution. Renting a powerbank in Asia led to the idea of creating a similar service in the U.S. The company started with 500 stations in New York in February 2022 and quickly gained popularity with users.

Launched in early 2022, the SAAS-company reached $5 M in revenue and $1M in net profit (including affiliate outlet revenue) in 2022.

"We want to make powerbanks available everywhere within walking distance," says Kamaletdinov. "People should be able to manage their time however they want and not have to sit next to a power outlet and wait for their phone to charge."

Recharge.city aims to install at least 3,000 charging stations in New York and sell 50,000 franchises within the next six months. The long-term goal is to set up 4,000 stations in New York and 100,000 stations in other cities and countries.

The SAAS-startup uses powerbanks with built-in durable wires that can withstand 500 to 1000 battery charge cycles to full capacity. The capacity is enough to charge any device with a lightning, Type-C, or microUSB connector. The company provides different types of charging stations, ranging from 8 to 48 powerbanks, depending on business needs.

"We want to provide an affordable and convenient solution for everyone who needs to stay connected throughout the day. We are like CitiBile for your device," says the founder Maksim Kamaletdinov. "In total, we now have about 16,000 powerbanks, 2,000 of which are rented per day. Each powerbank in a busy location can be rented up to five times a day. This means that our devices can be rented out in total maximum 80,000 times per day.."

To use the service, users can open the "Recharge.city" app on iOS or Android, confirm their phone number, and pay via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a linked card. They can then find the nearest station on the map in the app or on the website, rent a powerbank, and return it at any station.
