ATLANTA, GA / ACCESSWIRE / December 6, 2023 / Mission MightyMe, the nutritious baby and kids snack company on a mission to end the food allergy epidemic, has been awarded the Purity Award by Clean Label Project.
Clean Label Project - a non-profit, consumer protection group - conducts independent, third-party testing for more than 200 different contaminants including heavy metals, pesticides, plasticizers, bisphenols, acrylamide and other contaminants, and concluded that Mission MightyMe meets the strict requirements of the Clean Label Project Purity Award Standard. The Clean Label Project is committed to changing the definition of food and consumer safety through the use of data, science, and transparency, and awards brands with products that place an emphasized focus on purity and surpass the standards required by FDA.
"We're proud of this prestigious recognition, which is another proof point of our rigorous commitment to safety and our strict ingredient standards," said JJ Jaxon, co-founder of Mission MightyMe. "We're excited to have independent testing confirm what we already knew - that our snacks are among the cleanest on the market. With this certification, parents can feel extra good about feeding MightyMe early and often to their little ones. Our entire team is honored to be part of Clean Label Project's mission to raise the bar for food safety and transparency in America."
Mission MightyMe only works with carefully vetted farms and suppliers and only uses non-GMO ingredients that are organic whenever possible, to limit any potential exposure to chemicals and pesticides. The company also has a rigorous food safety product assessment and audit system in place for heavy metal, chemical and microbial testing. All final products are also tested for heavy metals to ensure compliance with established Safe Harbor levels under the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act (Prop 65).
"When it comes to foods for our children, parents and caregivers want healthy ingredients without having to worry about high levels of industrial and environmental contaminants," said Jackie Bowen, founder of Clean Label Project. "Snacks are no exception. Mission MightyMe's Clean Label Project Purity Award-Winning commitment to ingredient quality and safety, combined with their mission to help parents prevent food allergies, is an exciting and important new addition to the snack category for babies and kids."
The Purity Award - awarded to all four Mission MightyMe nut butter puff products - is just the latest third-party recognition for the brand. MightyMe also won the 2023 Baby Innovation Award for Best Snack Food Product of the Year. In 2021, Mission MightyMe was named one of Fast Company's World Changing Idea Finalists, noting, "Doctors now recommend exposing kids to peanuts early. Mission MightyMe gives it to them in the right form and dose." And in 2020, the company received a Trailblazer award from Food Navigator.
"As parents of three, we believe babies deserve only the best - and we know firsthand how important trust and transparency can be when it comes to feeding your family," said Catherine Mitchell Jaxon, co-founder of Mission MightyMe. "We launched Mission MightyMe with one very-specific purpose: to give parents trusted options for healthy snacking and food allergy prevention, that also delivered on taste, quality and nutrition. We weren't happy with the ingredients in the few products that existed, so we partnered with world-renowned pediatrician and researcher, Dr. Gideon Lack, to develop science-based foods made with the purest ingredients we could find. We're proud to be helping parents set their little ones up for a mighty future."
Mission MightyMe nut butter puffs are all more than 50% nuts and come in four delicious flavors: Classic Peanut Butter Puffs, Mixed Nut Butter Puffs, Peanut Butter Strawberry Puffs and Peanut Butter Banana Puffs. MightyMe Mixed Nut Butter Puffs are the first and only baby-friendly puffs to contain peanuts and multiple tree nuts (almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, walnuts) in sufficient quantities, making it simple for parents to include a wide variety of nuts in their children's diets early and often. Peanut Butter Strawberry Puffs and Peanut Butter Banana Puffs are the only quick-dissolve puffs made with peanut butter and real fruit - no natural flavors, no artificial flavors, no palm oil and no added sugar.
Versatile for any feeding stage after a baby starts solids, MightyMe puffs can be eaten on-the-go and stored in the convenient resealable pouch, softened with water and spoon-fed, or crumbled and mixed into any puree (depending on a child's developmental readiness). All products, including convenient Variety Packs in multiple flavor combinations, can be purchased in a case of five stand-up resealable pouches; $4.99 per pouch or $4.49 per pouch with subscription on missionmightyme.com and also available on Amazon, with Prime shipping available. To help parents navigate the feeding journey, Mission MightyMe offers an educational, easy-to-understand Early Allergen Introduction Guide and printable Early Introduction Checklist, available as a free online resource for all.
Research has shown that in addition to early peanut introduction, eating peanut foods regularly and consistently is important, so MightyMe puffs are formulated to age up as a healthy, tasty, go-to snack for babies, big kids, and beyond. The science-backed snacks were developed with MightyMe co-founder and global food allergy prevention expert Dr. Gideon Lack, whose groundbreaking research (the LEAP and EAT Studies) changed feeding guidelines around the world to recommend early introduction of peanut and other common food allergens in infancy.
