PORTAGE, WI / ACCESSWIRE / December 21, 2023 / On 7 December the Portage City Council voted unanimously to approve an option for Wisconsin Battery Company (WinBat) to buy 17 acres of land in the Portage Industrial Park to be used for a new battery manufacturing plant. The plant will also include a battery recycling facility, be powered by solar to the extent possible, and include a daycare center for employees.
Wisconsin Battery Company (WinBat) is a startup manufacturer hiring workers being laid off from the closing Energizer plant in the city. WinBat looks forward to launching operations with trained, experienced and knowledgeable employees.
