Bullish Productions announces partnership with 2293 Productions to develop feature film projects in Kentucky region
LOUISVILLE, KY / ACCESSWIRE / September 5, 2024 / Award-winning indie film collective Bullish Productions has partnered with 2293 Productions to open a development office in the growing film hub of Louisville, Kentucky.
Drawn to the Bluegrass state for its best-in-class film tax credit along with promising infrastructure projects like the newly-opened LEX Studios in Lexington and the proposed $65 million Louisville Gardens re-development into a multipurpose film and TV production complex, Adam Leotta, CEO of Bullish Productions, sees a bright future for film in Kentucky and hopes to capitalize on new opportunities in the region.
"I'm not surprised Sundance chose Louisville as one of six finalists to host the festival starting in 2027. Kentucky has affordable locations, government support, and an active film community with groups like 502 Film, Kentucky Women in Film, and the Louisville Film Society leading the charge," said Leotta.
Since moving into Kentucky, Bullish and 2293 completed post-production and released their first joint feature, the arthouse drama Little Deaths, to VOD on July 2. Jumping right into the local scene, Little Deaths features a song from Louisville-based GRLwood (courtesy of sonaBLAST! Records) in its trailer.

Louisville has seen an influx of film productions in the last few years including Ethan Hawke's Wildcat, SXSW-award winner Bob Trevino Likes It and the upcoming Amber Alert starring Hayden Panettiere. In July alone, 13 new productions were approved by the Kentucky Economic Development Board with total budgets of $40 million.
