APOLAN Honors 2022 Award Winners
Annual member awards spotlight the innovation, promotion and education of optical LAN as the industry's premier networking solution
NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / June 1, 2023 / APOLAN, the non-profit organization advocating for the education and global adoption for Optical Local Area Networks, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2022 APOLAN Awards. These awards recognize member companies that have embraced the association's mission to educate, advocate and promote optical LAN. Award winners were honored during an award ceremony at the APOLAN Annual Member Meeting on Feb. 6, 2023, in Tampa, Florida.
Education Award
The APOLAN Education Award recognizes member companies that have implemented learning initiatives contributing to the education of optical LAN and its benefits.
This year's Platinum winner is Tellabs, supported by EPS, OCC, Panduit and Graybar, for "2022 Optical LAN Regional Seminars Earns AIA and BICSI Education Credits." These educational seminars provided firsthand knowledge about how to plan, build and operate an enterprise Optical LAN.
Innovation Award
The APOLAN Innovation Award recognizes member companies that have promoted innovative optical LAN advancements to meet industry technical challenges.
This year's Platinum winner is Nokia for "Nokia Optical LAN helps Clinica de Las Americas (CDLA) become the most modern healthcare center in Bolivia, embrace digitalization and accelerate industry 4.0 adoption." Nokia provided CDLA with a high-capacity, state-of-the-art, fiber optic solution, capable of boosting performance, reducing costs, and improving connectivity for all users and use cases.
Promotion Award
The APOLAN Promotion Award recognizes member companies that have implemented promotional initiatives contributing to the awareness of optical LAN and its benefits.
This year's Platinum winner is Corning, supported by Qypsys, for "Smart Building Power Hours." Nokia hosted five Power Hours focused on promoting Optical LAN architectures. More than 620 live attendees and 1,130 registrants heard from guest speakers and gained a greater appreciation Optical LAN.
European Award
The APOLAN European Award recognizes APOLAN member companies in Europe that have contributed to the education, promotion and initiatives of optical LAN and its benefits.
This year's winner is Tellabs for "Achieving sustainable resilience for Dubai's World Expo 2020 and future smart global community with Optical LAN." This Cable Installation and Maintenance magazine cover article detailed how Tellabs Optical LAN, installed in the Sustainability Pavilion, was the shining star of the World Expo 2020 held in Dubai from October 2021 through March 2022.
