Hi, what are you looking for?

New Kickstarter campaign introduces a revolutionary Solar cell with improved efficiency.

Optical Rectenna introduces highly advanced solar cells that could accelerate the goal of Near-Global net zero-emission at least 6-7x faster than conventional solar cells and that too at a much lesser cost.

As the world is gearing up for Near-Global net zero emission targets as proposed by the COP26, there is this urgent need for advancement in clean energy, such as solar energy. Solar PV cells have been doing the rounds for quite a while now but their outdated design can only provide limited conversion efficiency. In that light, a Delaware-based renowned telecommunications scholar, Panomporn Suvannapattana, has recently launched a cutting-edge solar cell project on Kickstarter that assures more efficiency, versatility, durability, and also affordability than traditional solar cells. Titled “Optical Rectenna”, the new improved solar cell is aimed to accelerate the process to reach the Near-Global net-zero emission goal.

What separates the new advanced Optical Rectenna solar cells from the regular Photovoltaic solar cells is their next-gen “Rectenna” (Antenna + Rectifier) design. This breakthrough infrastructure has proven to offer around 60-70% conversion efficiency (conversion of radio wave energy from the sun to DC electricity) which is way higher than that offered by traditional solar cells.

“We are excited to share with you our breakthrough solar cell project, Optical Rectenna. Our next-gen solar cells have been uniquely developed to address the typical problems we face with traditional PV solar cells. On one hand, conventional solar cells are costly and that automatically limits their mainstream adoption. Most importantly, while the theoretical conversion efficiency of traditional solar cells is 40-45%, the practical efficiency is far less, say 7-15%. Such low conversion efficiency will only delay our Near-Global net zero-emission targets, as outlined by the COP26 conference. This is where our game-changing Optical Rectenna solar cells promise to offer a more improved solution”, stated Mr. Suvannapattana, the founder of Optical Rectenna.

The Optical Rectenna solar cells work by harvesting the electromagnetic waves emitted by the sun. The conductor materials are strategically made of silver, gold, or copper as their size and shape match up with the wavelength of the sunlight spectrum. When the solar electromagnetic waves strike on conductor materials, it creates a condition called “resonance”. It’s the “resonance” that helps to transform the electromagnetic wave into electricity.

“Our new solar cells are not only more affordable and versatile than traditional solar cells but also offer much higher conversion efficiency. The success of our project will enable us to reach the desired net-zero carbon emission goal by 2050.”

The Optical Rectenna solar cells consist of a conductor printed on a substrate that integrates a rectifier circuit to provide electricity at the same output as the traditional solar cell. The advanced technology helps the new solar cells to assure 100% theoretical conversion efficiency. And in practical life, the new solar cells have shown to offer 60-70% conversion efficiency. Also, the simplicity of the design cuts down the cost, making Optical Rectenna solar cells 50% more affordable compared to conventional solar cells.

“Our advanced solar cells could accelerate our global goal of Near-Global net zero-emission at least 6-7x faster than conventional solar cells- and that too at a reduced cost. As of now, we are looking forward to starting the mass production of our revolutionary solar cells and hence this Kickstarter campaign. Your generous support will allow us to bring these advanced solar cells to life and also enable you to take a proactive part in saving the environment.”

Backers will be rewarded with special Kickstarter discounts on the Optical Rectenna solar panels.
