The Express Medford location is pleased to announce that their associate, Samantha Minnard, has been chosen as the Employee of the Year nominee for their zone!
The United States Express franchise locations are separated out into five zones: West, South, Central, East Central, and Northeast. One associate is chosen each year from each zone as a nominee for the Employee of the Year award. Each associate who becomes a nominee must be reliable, hard-working, honest, have a top-notch attitude, and frequently go above and beyond to succeed.
The nominated individuals receive a $1,000 cash prize, travel, and hotel accommodations for two people to the 2022 ILC, and $1,000 for meals and entertainment. The Employee of the Year award winner will be announced at the ILC and will receive a $5,000 cash prize.
Samantha Minnard became an Express Medford associate in early 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. She is a single mother of three and was seeking a full-time graveyard shift position so that her mother could babysit her children while she worked. Samantha was placed at the local hospital as a COVID-19 screener and worked there for several months before a wildfire tragically swept through her community and destroyed her home along with 2500 others. Even dealing with this horrible turn of events, she only took a handful of days off from work to get her family settled into a hotel and to procure new clothes and food for them.
Within a few months, the hours for the hospital COVID-19 screening position were reduced, and Samantha was placed with a community service agency as an eligibility specialist helping others find housing. She was ultimately hired by the agency and still works there today.
