KT took over Altimedia, the completion of media business vertical integration

On Dec. 2, KT (CEO Hyun-mo Gu, www.kt.com) announced the completion of Altimedia acquisition and its incorporation to KT group. 

Altimedia is providing digital media service solutions for payTV operator such as middleware, content security, user experience, and cloud UI, etc. Altimedia is no.1 middleware and CAS solution provider in Korea and expanding its global footprints along with the regional offices in Netherland and Vietnam. It actively carries out the business with the leading telecommunication operators such as Viettel, the biggest telco in Vietnam, and Turk Telekom in Turkey.

Through Altimedia acquisition, KT expects to boost the internalization of media technology and to secure its service competitiveness as well. KT also aims global media market penetration by utilizing Altimedia’s overseas business experiences and local presences. 

Do-sa Park, CEO of Altimedia said, “Altimedia will continuously offer robust support to current customers for sure” and “We will also contribute to accelerating the integration and growth of media business of KT. It’s expected that Altimedia takes a role of the media/content business expansion along with the enterprise roadmap of the group.
