KidGlov, a boutique marketing and advertising agency based out of Lincoln and Omaha, Neb., recently welcomed Tony Goins, director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, to its podcast, Agency for Change. The episode explored Goins’ work for the State of Nebraska and what makes Nebraska a great place to do business.

Since 1967, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development has been focused on growing and diversifying the state’s economic base, bringing new dollars, new businesses, and new people into the state. This state department helps support communities with development efforts; assist businesses in starting, retaining and expanding; and promote the state for business locations and expansions.
Goins became director in 2019 and since joining, has led the work of the department, including supporting local business through the COVID-19 pandemic. During the Agency for Change podcast episode, Goins shares his journey to becoming director, what makes Nebraska a great place to do business, and his book about Nebraska business leaders, Something in the Water.
“Our vision, what we wake up every day doing, is thinking about how we grow Nebraska and how we create a good life for every one of our 1.94 million citizens,” said Goins. “Economic conclusion does matter because when we can help all Nebraskans economically, that’s really healthy for the entire state.”
