Tampa, Florida – June 23, 2022 – KF&B Law Academic Scholarship presented its 2020-2021 awardee, Theo a student at Gonzaga University. He will receive his award at the beginning of his Fall semester.
KF&B Law believes in justice for all–as a law firm, they believe that students who stand for equality deserve opportunities to help empower others as well. This is why the company chose Theo as the 2022 winner. The scholarship essay prompt reads: “Describe one way the hardships of the past year have made you look at your higher education goals differently.”
Theo thoroughly answered the prompt and what stood out the most to the judges was the following sentiment, “Despite our family struggles, I embraced the challenge to get better grades. I utilized tutors and the support of my teachers at Bellarmine to refocus my goals despite the social and emotional challenges I was facing.”
Over the past two years, many high school students faced many challenges during the pandemic as they had to become accustomed to a new way of learning. Many of these students also faced financial hardships as their parents were furloughed, and college funds were unfortunately emptied. Scholarships offered by organizations like KF&B Law have given new hope to prospective students.
