IntelliTec Grand Junction to Offer New Computer Systems Technician Program

IntelliTec College in Grand Junction, Colorado is now offering a new Computer Systems Technician certificate program, achievable in 12 months. The new Computer Systems Technician certificate program will begin at Grand Junction on July 5, 2022.

IntelliTec College’s mission is to provide the training programs students need in order to be prepared for the jobs that are in high demand in their communities. Computer and information technology workers are in high demand across the country. The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics projects that employment in computer and information technology occupations will grow 13 percent from 2020 to 2030. Much faster than the average for all occupations, this growth is projected to add about 667,600 new jobs to the American economy (BLS). IntelliTec College has added the Computer Systems Technician certificate program to help meet the need for Information Technology professionals in the Grand Junction area.

The new Computer Systems Technician program at IntelliTec College – Grand Junction teaches students the essentials of computer and network repair skills, and prepares them to test for relevant professional certifications. IntelliTec College students learn how to build and repair computers; install, configure, and maintain a variety of Windows operating systems in a stand-alone, workgroup, and domain environment; set up internet connections and establish different types of networks like LAN (local area network) or WAN (wide area network); establish and maintain functioning routers and servers and prevent and repair malfunctions when they occur; and maintain network security fundamentals with Cloud technology. Additionally, students learn the necessary interpersonal “soft skills” for providing help and support to people and organizations using computer software or equipment. The CST program is a certificate program, requiring 61.5-credit hours, and can be completed in as few as 12 months.

IntelliTec College is a CompTIA Authorized Academy, and the CST program prepares graduates to test for professional certifications upon completion of the program. These certifications are recognized throughout the industry and highly valued by employers. IntelliTec College’s CST certificate program prepares students to test for certifications including the CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+ Certified Technician (two exams: Hardware and Software), CompTIA Network+ Certified Professional, CompTIA Security+ Certified Professional, CompTIA Linux+, and the Microsoft Technology Associate: Windows Server. Graduates of IntelliTec’s CST program will be prepared to enter the workforce as a computer systems administrator, network technician, end user support specialist, computer systems support technician, information technology associate, mobile device specialist (A+), or information security/assurance analyst.
