Hustle Culture? Young Reselling Expert Yousef Elsheikh’s Take 20 million dollars later

Hustle culture has become a widespread phenomenon in recent years, especially among younger professionals. More people are taking up more work out of necessity. Many Americans work over 45 hours a week, and nearly half of them have a side gig to cover basic expenses, according to GOBankingRates.

Yousef Elsheikh is a young entrepreneur who’s made a killing from reselling limited-edition sneakers and hyped apparel. He’s turned his side hustle into a full-fledged business and is now worth over $20 million, all before getting his high school diploma.

Who is Yousef Elsheikh?

Yousef Elsheikh was in high school when he started his side gig of reselling limited-edition apparel in 2017. He would regularly purchase ‘Supreme’ products during their Thursday drops. His routine included putting his phone in his pencil case, hiding it in his hoodie, and heading to the school restroom, where he discreetly purchased the products to resell them.

Elsheikh shares that expanding his wardrobe and gaining financial independence drove him to start reselling, but his business model’s potential made him pursue it while juggling school life.

He shares, “There is a great deal of social pressures that come with being a teenager. There are expectations of attending events, being socially active, and maintaining grades. As a result, ensuring the success of my business often involved sacrificing for my own goals. These sacrifices robbed me of some of the things my peers had, but it was rewarding as an educational and self-rewarding experience.”

Today, Elsheikh’s business has grown. He established ITF LLC, a successful Amazon FBA and shoe reselling business. His company has already hired over 30 full time employees and has warehouses all over the tri-state area.

Hustle Culture: Yay or Nay?

Hustle culture’s growing popularity can be attributed to the rising standard of living and desire for financial stability. Elsheikh believes that hustle culture can benefit those who can stomach it.

I think it’s a great thing,” he says. “If you have a goal, do not let anyone stop you from realizing it. Many people doubted me, and few still do, but I’ve proved them wrong.” Elsheikh is living proof that hustle culture can lead to success.
