Healing with Our Voices – The Time Is Now

Sep. 5, 2022 / PRZen / FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — 2020 brought about hard times and uncertainty for many. We had no idea about what tomorrow and the future days would bring. Lives were lost, businesses closed and not knowing where to turn for help in moments like these made these times all the more difficult. We asked, “Where do we go from here?”

The Old Dillard Foundation a non-profit organization, realized that all communities large and small needed healing and resolved to develop a community chorus that would sing songs of healing for all. This month the Old Dillard Foundation is relaunching an open call to anyone with vocal talent or who just loves to sing to come and share their gifts.

The Old Dillard Foundation is seeking 100 voices and is inviting you to be a part of Healing Our Community through the Arts Project. You must be at least 15 years old and a Florida Resident.

The Old Dillard Foundation’s Voices United South Florida is a multi-ethnic multicultural chorus that reflects the rich diversity of South Florida. The chorus will perform music from the following genres: Jazz, Latin, Blues, Gospel, R&B and Hip Hop.

Rehearsals will begin under the direction National Recording Artist Melvin Dawson. The rehearsals will take place every Thursday night from 7:30pm to 8:30pm at the Old Dillard Foundation Arts and Heritage House located at 821 NW 8TH Court, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. You can visit our organization please visit our website at https://www.olddillardfoundation.org

This is not an audition; this is an opportunity to come and share what you love doing.
